The intensive courses have at least two instructors teaching at all times to the highest industry standard whilst preparing candidates for the work-force.
The GWO BST courses, &; the IRATA rope access training courses, all provide the required skills and certification to be able to start work in industry, and are recognised world-wide.
IRATA - Accredited Training Levels:
IRATA Level 1
Entry Level. This is a rope access technician who is able to perform a specified range of rope access tasks under the supervision of a Level 3 rope access safety supervisor. No previous experience is required.
IRATA Level 2
This is an experienced rope access Technician who is able to perform more complex tasks under the supervision of a Level 3 rope access safety supervisor, capable of more complex rigging, able to undertake rescues from a variety of situations, and is able to assemble and implement hauling systems.
IRATA Level 3
This is an experienced rope access Technician looking to move into a supervisory role who is responsible for understanding and implementing rope access procedures, method statements and risk assessments, understands the elements and principles of IRATA, is conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation, has an extensive knowledge of advanced rope access rigging and rescue techniques, and holds an appropriate and current first-aid certificate.
GWO - Basic Safety Training Standard Modules:
GWO BST Manual Handling
The aim of this Module is to encourage positive Manual Handling and ergonomic behaviour, encourage participants to consider alternatives to manual handling through planning and to train Participants ability to perform Manual Handling tasks in a safe manner in the wind turbine industry/environment.
GWO BST First Aid
The aim of this BST Module is to enable Participants to administer safe and effective First Aid in the wind turbine industry/ WTG environment, in accordance with GWO First Aid training through theoretical and practical training. Furthermore, this training will enable the delegate to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
GWO BST Fire Awareness
The aim of this course is to give the Participants the basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training. Participants should be able to prevent fires, make appropriate judgements when evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel and ensure all are safely accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire. If the incident is judged to be safe, the Participants should be able to efficiently extinguish an initial fire by using basic hand held fire fighting equipment.
GWO BST Work at Height
The aim of this module is to qualify the participants, through theoretical and practical training, to use basic personal protective equipment and perform safe work at heights and safe and comprehensive basic rescue from heights in a remote wind turbine environment.
